When starting to visualize the way the animation will go the first thing that was done were the rough sketches for the storyboard. For this storyboard 8 panels were used, the first sketches are quite rough without much detail or explanation in them just to quickly visualize the order that the animation will go in. For the first and last 3 seconds of the animation I knew that an outro and intro will be needed to hopefully give the viewers an introduction of the topic that the animation is about. From later sketches the phrase that is used in the intro is ‘Ai taking over Human jobs.’ The intro is short and straightforward, with the first word being ‘AI’ it makes it immediately clear what the animation is about. With the outro the same visual will be used but the phrase will be different, and it will reflect my opinion on AI that will also be portrayed throughout the animation and different scenes. All the visuals such as the human, canvas, clock, robot eyes, human eye etc. Will be done in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Adobe Animate so that the visuals are more precises with the available tools in Illustrator such as the pen tool. When doing the storyboard, one box is going to be one scene in Adobe Animate, so in total there should be 8 different scenes that change within the time to create the animation and transitions.

After doing the rough storyboard sketches, I went back and did all of them on separate layers where more thought and thinking was done about the placement and how exactly it will look in Animate. This detailed storyboard has writing that explains what part of the scene will be animated, like the intro and outro, the gears will be turning along with the coming in. These more thought-out sketches help me think more about the actual animation part. With the black circles that will have their opacity changing, there will be statistics or facts written in them to help the viewers understand the severity of AI being used in creative fields. These statistics/facts are taken from these two articles (1 & 2) that talk about how quickly Ai has been implemented in the industry.

When doing the storyboard there needed to be a transition from one thing to another, this is where the scene of the clock comes in, the third scene in the storyboard. For this one the Animate camera will be used to zoom into the clock (the clock used to showcase how much time human artists spend on pieces of art) and from the black dot it will go into the black circle that will have a fact or statistic in it.
