For the Psychometric test where we needed to watch a music video and think about what role reminded us of ourselves, my answers were mainly towards the middle. The only role that was more on the like me side was ‘The Wood Slapper.’ That is because the wood slapper was still important to the performance, but he wasn’t the focus like The Soprano or The Whistler. The Wood Slapper was still needed there but he didn’t have the attention solely focused on him and that is where I am similar. When working in a group I prefer to be heard and talk from time to time or if asked a question but not lead the group. The Whistler and The Soprano are both leading roles that take control of the stage and everyone pays attention to, and their eyes turn to them, which isn’t like me. The Conductor is the main leader though, overseeing and commanding the Chorus. The reason the Conductor is ‘a little like me’ is because in this project when working with the groups I was assigned as the main source of communication for the start. I was the one that one of the groups turned to before adding the two other people in my group in with the marketing students. The reason that the Oboe guy is a little bit like me is because like in the wood slapper case he was important and heard but he wasn’t the focus.
When working together with the marketing students looking back the experience could have been better. The groups weren’t as talkative or as expressive as they should have been. Due to conflicting schedules and misunderstandings between their groups it took them a long time to respond to their needs to us, which in turn gave us little space to notify them of any changes or prepare a fully thought-out design. However, when talking with the other graphic students in my group I felt more like the Conductor, due to the fact that I was the main messenger for one of the groups I was relaying information back to the graphic students which made me feel like the role of the Conductor is a little bit like me. When the marketing students were asking questions, I replied but other than that I didn’t start their communication.
