For the 2D Animate venue, the idea behind it is that the castle that was sketched out, outlined and illustrated in Procreate and then exported to Adobe Animate, would be used for a author for a book launch. With the book launch being inside the castle venue to celebrate a book launching into the public.
For the castle I looked at different castles that are also libraries online (1 & 2) and took inspiration from them for how I wanted the castle to look. With this venue focusing more on the author rather than the venue.

These are some of the sketches that once again used the references as inspiration for how the outside of the castle will look since that will be the main part in the 2D animation. The focal point of the animation that the viewers eyes will go to. Next to the sketches is the outcome with the outline and colour added, before it’s imported into Animate.

After finishing with the design of the castle, I then imported into animate and then made sketches of the idea that I wanted for the animation with arrows pointing and giving me an idea of how I wanted the clouds and bird to animate and move, as well as how the castle will come into view using the camera setting to bring it into view from above and the clouds coming in from the left whereas, the bird coming in from the right.

With the animation done, I learned from this part that it’s crucial to have a plan even if it’s a simple one before going into something like an animation that requires you to work with frames and a sequence. With the sketches and an idea beforehand, it was immensely helpful when coming to the actual animation part.
